Day 1 - The road trip begins in Coney Island, at Keyspan Park. Although there was no ballgame that morning, we took part in a charity walk benefiting the American Cancer Society called Take Your Base. The over 200 participants (including most/all of the Brooklyn Cyclones team, who later signed autographs) were treated to a beautiful morning for a 5K walk (or run) along the boardwalk and then onto the ballfield, finishing up at home plate. Score!
The event raised over $22,000 for the fight against cancer. Many thanks to all who have donated to support us. For more info or to make a donation, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com/community/takeyourbase/.
Our next stop was lunch at L&B Spumoni Gardens, a Brooklyn landmark for pizza, with our old friends Anthony, Susan and Tony. http://www.spumonigardens.com/ And yeah, it's some of the best pizza we've had.
Done with Brooklyn, we moved on to Jersey for a quick stop at Bob, Bonnie and Rachel's annual pig roast. Happy Birthday, Bob! Joe was manning the grill like a pro. An entire pig on a spit. Kind of gross, but when in Jersey...
After an 8 hour ride, including a stop at A&W in Pennsylvania for cheese curds (yum) and an amazing sunset, we arrived in Cleveland to visit mom.
Tomorrow: Game 1 in Cleveland. Go Tribe!

Tasing, speed huming and sausage races - sounds like a VERY successful road trip to me.
Not to mention that Todd had the chance to display his interlocking NY T's across the midwest! Steph, great smile... keep em coming!
