Wednesday, July 2, 2008 (part 2) - Geneva to Davenport

Day 5 - Part 2

We found the Lincoln Highway, the first road to cross the US (New York to California).

We saw some weather...

And then we entered Iowa!

We were in Davenport, IA one of the Quad Cities right on the Mississippi River. The team is the Quad City River Bandits. This is the sign for the Ladies' Room:

Since this is Iowa, there is corn growing in left field (in foul territory, right next to the bullpen).

A happy Bandit and his new fans.

Then the stormclouds rolled in.

They take their barbeque seriously here, offering a selection of sauces.

After the storm, a rainbow filled the sky, covering the entire stadium.

The visiting team (the Cedar Rapids Kernels), had a bat codger.

The River Bandits lost to the Kernels.

When we left to ballpark, we entered a very unique area.

Next: Field of Dreams and St. Paul, MN!
