Monday, September 1, 2008 - Brockton, MA to New Britain, CT

It's Labor Day, so we're headed toward home. But first a stop in New Britain to see the Rock Cats with Dan, Laurie and the girls.

Moo

Nice udders.

This mascot ws too busy to get his picture taken with Stephanie.

And the New Britain Rock Cats (AA for the Twins) beat the Binghamton Mets (AA for the Mets) 3-1.

Sunday, August 31, 2008 - Troy, NY to Brockton, MA

Thanks Scott and Christine for putting us up for the night (and Steven for letting us use his room). But now we're headed East across Massachusetts to Brockton to see the Rox at Campanelli Field.

Previous Brockton teams honored the town's boxing heritage.

Retired numbers for Marvelous Marvin and the original Rocky.

The Rox/Rocks pitcher should have no trouble today against this lineup.

The confessions or contentions, your choice.

Mascot and Stephanie.

Dan would be confused. Shouldn't they sell 2 baked potatos at a time?

Ball barriers protecting the stadium.

After blowing the lead in the top of the 9th, the Brockton Rox come back in the bottom of the 9th to beat the New Jersey Jackals 3-2 in a Canadian-American League game.

Go Rox!!

Saturday, August 30, 2008 - Wappingers Falls, NY to Troy, NY

Heading upstate today to visit Scott and Christine, but first a stop at a farmer's market for some fresh locally grown fruits and veggies.

And lunch at the Eveready Diner, recommended by Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Another farmer's market? OK, we'll bite.

With a petting zoo too.

Next stop is Troy, NY for the Tri-City ValleyCats.

But it was a dog's night, Bark in the Park.

The field

And the dogs.

Lupo's got some good food.

Stephanie's making friends again.

Hi Christine and Maco.

Making friends.

And getting up on the dugout.

Maco made it to the big screen.

Elvis has not yet left the building.

How far upstate are we?

Really cute dog, despite the appearance of glowing eyes.

In the top of the 9th, the entire stadium lost power. Minutes later, everything was being re-booted.

And a few fans stuck around for the final couple outs.

All the scoring was earlier, but at least they got the final score right. The Tri-City ValleyCats (A for the Astros) beat the Vermont Lake Monsters (A for the Nationals).

Mascot taking a victory lap?

Friday, August 29, 2008 - New York, NY to Wappingers Fals, NY

Part 2 of our Roadtripping this year finds us taking a short jaunt over Labor Day Weekend.

We begin at the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Welcome to beautiful Dutchess County!

WHEW! But weapons of ANY kind? What about our devastating charm and good looks?

The field...

Stephanie had to adjust the standings to make them correct. That morning, her Indians had risen into third place.

The Hudson Valley Renegades (A for the Devil Rays) beat the Lowell Spinners (A for the Red Sox) 4-1.

Let's make a Deal.

Andy and the kids joined us at the game. Hi Dimitra and Andrew!

Stephanie and Todd had to join the fun too ...

because Fun is Good!

After the game, we made it to GregStock, a local musical benefit for the victim of a motorcycle accident.
